Hayward, Wisconsin River Trip Info

Acme River Rides trips feature principally the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers. Other rivers can be utilized, but our featured rivers will be the Namekagon and St. Croix. We have a permit issued by the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, a United States National Park, which allows us to conduct our business within the Park. Our emphasis will be on the 100 miles of the Namekagon and the upper 3 0 miles of the St. Croix. Trips will be 4-8 hours in duration, depending upon the river sections selected. Life jackets, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Shuttle services will be arranged depending upon trip size and trip location. Guests will be responsible for weather-dictated appropriate clothing, hats, sunglasses, raincoats, etc. Bring your camera, binoculars, sketch pad, bird and flower books and a great attitude.

Cost

  • Trips on the Upper Namekagon down to Trego are $200 per boat.
  • Trips from Trego to Riverside and the Upper St. Croix are $250 per boat.

Boat capacity is 1 or 2 guests, plus the oarsman.

The Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers were included in the initial group of rivers designated as Wild and Scenic in the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. This designation lends assurance that we will encounter virtually no house or other signs of civilization. The rivers are as pristine today as they were many generations ago. There are very limited hiking trails in the riverway, leaving the rivers themselves as the only path on which to enjoy the spectacular beauty of Wisconsin’s Moving National Park.
